There is no religion involved in the sun… the earth rotates, when it is night we are not facing the sun. The sun shines 24/7 yes, at night we are just not facing the sun, so we cannot see it or be illuminated by its light…

I’m unattached to any particular religion.
When it is night on one side of a planet, it is day on the other side, provided nothing is blocking the sunlight.
In a wider scope, the sun shines constantly in all directions (regardless of the planet) until all of its gases run out.

Chapter 91; the Sun
THE EXPLANATION
1. {وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا}
These are two (2) adjurations. Allah adjured by the sun and its light. Imam al-Bukhariyy said: Mujahid said that duhaha (َضُحَاهَا) means ‘its (the sun’s) light’.
2. {وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلاهَا}
Imam al-Bukhariyy said this is when the moon follows the sun, because when the sun sets, the crescent appears the first night of the month.
3. {وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلاَّهَا}
The meaning is when the day exposes the sun. When the day spreads out, the sun is clearly exposed.
4. {وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا}
When the night falls, it covers the light of the sun with its darkness.
5. {وَالسَّمَاءِ وَمَا بَنَاهَا}
It means ‘by the sky and the One who created it.’
