I want to get rid of the Sugar Land Sun and the Fort Bend Sun in the Sugar Land News section. How can I?

These papers refuse to deliver to my house by either subscription or by free service. Therefore, I want nothing to do with them.

If you get them throw them away.

How come the sun isn’t blue even though that is the hottest color of fire?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under sun fire | 10 Comments »

I have always wondered, since the hottest color of fire is blue, why is the sun yellow and not blue?

We only see the surface of the Sun, called the photosphere. It is much cooler than the center – about 5400 Celsius (compared with millions of degrees Celsius at the center).

The blackbody radiation profile for a 5400 C object corresponds to yellow-white, as perceived by the human eye.

why is the sun newspaper 20p in eseex, but 30p in hampshire?

How can you tell the direction (north south west east) from looking at the sun or the sky?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under the sun | 7 Comments »

I just need to know, anybody smart?
does this also apply for North Carolina?

By the rising sun’s direction as East.
We can feel what time it is in a day (morning, noon or afternoon), won’t we? From this we know the direction of setting Sun as West. Primary school kids are very smart. Their teacher (one of them must have) told them that if you face East (or rising Sun) stretching hands to the sides, right hand points to south and left hand points to north. Perhaps later generations didn’t pay that much attention when they were in primary school. That is for the day time.
In the night you must be familiar with the stars. If living in a country sufficiently north, for you to identify all circumpolar constellations locate the seven stars in Ursa Major (Great Bear). First pair in these seven (to the right) are useful as ‘pointers’ to the ‘Pole Star’ that marks the direction of ‘North’. Again hand-stretching experiment comes handy here. Point your left hand to the North (‘Pole Star’) and the right shows South, the front is turned to East and back to West !
Ancient man is much smarter than modern man by loads. He knew all the directions because he didn’t have all the modern amenities.

ASP requires Microsoft IIS or ChilisoftASP! server.

Why aren’t you running JSP (Java Server Pages)?

Emerald Sword – Rhapsody of Fire

Posted by admin on March 29th, 2010 and filed under sun fire | 25 Comments »

Emerald Sword by Rhapsody of Fire. I dont know very well their work, but I really like this song (^_^)

Lyrics:

I crossed the valleys the dust of midlands
to search for the third key to open the gates
Now I’m near the altar the secret inside
As legend told my beloved sun light the dragons eyes
On the way to the glory I’ll honour my sword
to serve right ideals and justice for all

Finally happened the sun hit their eyes
the spell was creating strange games of light
Thanks to hidden mirrors I found my lost way
over the stones I reached the place it was a secret cave
In a long bloody battle that prophecies told
the light will prevail hence wisdom is gold

For the king for the land for the mountains
for the green valleys where dragons fly
for the glory the power to win the black lord
I will search for the emerald sword

Only a warrior with a clear heart
could have the honour to be kissed by the sun
Yes, I am that warrior I followed my way
led by the force of cosmic soul I can reach the sword
On the way to the glory I’ll honour my sword
to serve right ideals and justice for all

For the king for the land for the mountains
for the green valleys where dragons fly
for the glory the power to win the black lord
I will search for the emerald sword

For the king for the land for the mountains
for the green valleys where dragons fly
for the glory the power to win the black lord
I will search for the emerald sword

My Servers

Posted by admin on March 29th, 2010 and filed under sun servers | 16 Comments »

For those that said the video was a bit too dark. http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n225/pks_loss/DSC01602.jpg

I love Sun Microsystems!!! This is just a brief video, showing off my rack of servers. I host them out of my home. I’m a really big Sun Microsystems enthusiast, and bought my first Sun hardware almost a year ago.

The four computers you see there are named (from top to bottom): WORK, PLAY, SERVER, and Untangle. WORK is meant for well… work, it has similar processor as PLAY, but is a different model of server. THE Sun Servers use the UltraSPARC II processors, WORK Uses UltraSparc IIe at 500 MhZ, PLAY uses the UltraSparc IIi at 440 MhZ. (Oh and boy do they hum ^_^), WORK has 768 MB ram, PLAY has 256, each one has (2) 10,000 RPM SCSI hard drives, WORK has the larger drives (18G), PLAY has (9.1G). PLAY uses Ubuntu Linux.

SERVER has it’s own set of rules, and is mostly used as a Home Server. (Pentium II, 256 RAM, (2) Hard Drives: (1) 20 GIG, (1) 200 GIG.

Untangle, is well, just that. It untangles all the traffic and acts as a virus-scanning, spyware de-spying, port-blocking behemoth that I love oh so well. (Best of all, it’s FREE!!!)

All this is being tied together by a D-Link DGL-4500. The thing is a beast, so I put a fan on it to keep it nice and cool. (I don’t mind the noise)
